Why you are not getting enough sleep?

Everyone who have sleeping troubles long to know the answer to this question, but the causes could be more common than you think... If you already started to be interested, stay reading this amazing article because I will show you some of the principal reasons of why people are not getting a good quality of sleeping, and obviously, their solutions.

Well, at the bedtime, there are a lot of factors that you need to take in account, like the weather, the room brightly, outside noises and amount others. Basically, you must fix your needs to your bedtime. Identify which are the things that makes you feel uncomfortable while you're sleeping and try to change them. But, if you still have some problems to sleep like a log, these could be some common causes:

  1. Consume too much caffeine, alcohol and sleep tablets: The caffeine is a stimulant that prevents you sleeping well. Alcohol may make you drowsy, but your sleep will be very restless. Sleeping tablets are OK to use occasionally, but not regularly. They stop working well and you may become addicted.
  2. Don't relax before bed: You should avoid exercising, computer games and television if you are going to bed.
  3. Eating and drinking late: Eating too close to bedtime doesn't sounds like a good idea. If you are hunger near to bedtime, is recommendable to eat something small and light. Otherwise you could have heartburn and discomfort in the chest. Drinking before sleep will make you get up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night, so try to avoid that.
  4. Jet lag: It's common to have some problems to sleep after traveling to another country, but why? Because your internal body clock will adapt to the new zone you are. 
  5. Shift work: It's difficult to develop a regular sleep pattern if your shifts work changes constantly. It's recommendable to adapt yourself to that work lifestyle. However, it could be harder or easier depending of the person.
  6. Medical conditions and pregnancy: Asthma, painful arthritis, or something psychological disturb sleep. In the last months of pregnancy, the bedtime disturb more often because of leg cramps, discomfort in the chest and having to go to the toilet often.
  7. Drug side effects: If you consume some over the counter and prescription drugs, they could be distributing your sleep. In any case, consult with your doctor.
  8. Sleep disorders: Is harder to identify if you are suffering sleep disorders, such as insomnia, sleep apnoea and restless legs. In fact, they may not be recognized for years. If you think you have symptoms of sleep disorders, don't hesitate to go to a doctor. 
  9. Thinking sleep as something insignificant: How much important is to sleep? You might ask yourself. Well, I will ask you the next question to answer that doubt: How much important is your family for you? Yes, sleeping has that kind of importance. Through sleep your body can rest and be properly prepared for the next day. It has a great influence on your health: prevents obesity, heart diseases, and psychological illness like depression or anxiety. Of course, your brain needs to recharge, clean the toxins, forming memories and going through the day’s events. Sleep is not a waste of time, you're doing a favor to your body that works every day. 😎👍
Natural ways to sleep better
  • Go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, develop a sleep routine!
  • Turn off the computer, phone and television at least one 15 or 20 minutes before bed.
  • Keep your bedroom cool, quiet and dark.
  • Stop smoking and drinking.
  • Exercise at least four times a week.
  • Hog the bed.
  • Don't use your bed for working, eating or watching tv, for sleeping only.
Natural tea to have a good quality of sleeping
One natural tea I found was a tea made by California poppy leaves. It's pretty easy to make it, besides helps to erase the anxiety and leaving you feeling relaxed before going bed. To prepare the tea, steep the oranges leaves in hot water for at least 10 minutes, and there's your tea!

In conclusion, to get a good quality of sleeping is essential to prevent the 9 points I said previously. Preventing them, you're going to sleep like never before. Also the natural methods are the best way to go sleep because with them you avoid using drugs or tablets that in the majority of cases, get negative consequences for your body. Remember to make a sleep routine, sleep 7 to 9 hours per day and to avoid the use of electronic devices before sleep. Good night!
